ABOUT AVALOKITESHVARA
Avalokiteśvara (Chenrezig in Tibetan Buddhism), is one of the most eminent deities in Buddhism. He is referred to as the Bodhisattva of compassion. The deity is usually depicted with four arms in either a standing or seated position. He is often depicted holding a white lotus signifying his insight into the nature of emptiness and the eternal gem of Bodhichitta, the intellect of enlightenment. Here the color of his body is white and he is represented in the seated lotus position with four arms. Avalokiteshvara can be depicted with either standing or sitting and with 2, 4, 8, 12, 24, or one thousand arms.

Thangde Gatsal Thangka Painting School, created by Master Locho and his wife Dr Sarika Singh. The school is nestled in the Himalayas in Northern India in Dharamshala and is ideal for nature walks and spiritual growth.
